CITY TOURS

A day tour to Jinja

After breakfast our Tour guide will transfer you to Jinja having a stop over at Mabira forest for site seeing .This forest is rich in biomes a number of primates, birds and butterfly species are recorded. As you proceed to Jinja, you will view tea, coffee and sugar plantation en route. Through the ripon falls, now known as the own falls dam, you will access the source of the Nile. A place where John Spekes stood and spotted the source of the Nile River. Have lunch at Nile Resort hotel.

After lunch, in the afternoon, you may go for buggy jumping or else go to Bujagali Falls for white water rafting, kayaking, squad biking, Acrobatic, Dances etc. There after drive back toKampala and if time allows, have a stop over at Ssezibwa Falls which is believed to have been produced by a woman and its twin sister is River musamya.

A day Tour to Kampala and Namugongo

Kampala with an estimated population of about 2.5million is the capital city of Uganda, working as the administrative and commercial centre of Uganda. Originally, Kampala was on seven hills but because of population growth caused by rural-urban migration and other development, the city has now spread over 20 hills that partly make Wakiso district which encircle Kampala at all its boarders. Kampala city is headed by a mayor is divided into four administrative divisions that is, Kampala Central Division, Kawempe, Nakawa, Lubaga and Makindye division. Namirembe hills
The oldest and centrally located Diocese in Uganda, Namirembe plays an outstanding role in gauging the life and spirit of the whole church in general as far as Uganda is concerned. Namirembe is the oldest, among the 29 Diocese of the Anglican church of theprovince of Uganda.

You may also visit the kabaka’s lake which is agreat site for bird species in Kampala city. This includes an extra cost for bird watching.

Kasubi Tombs
The kasubi tombs are traditionally known as Muzibu-Azaala-Mpanga and are where the four Kabakas (kings of Buganda kingdom) are buried. Kasubi Tombs are adorned with royal regalia like spears, drums, a stunned leopard, medals, photographs and shields of the kabakas buried there. The structure is supported by wooden poles wrapped in backcloth and the floor covered with grass and palm leaves mats. Backcloth traditionally popular for clothing is a fabric made from the soft back of a fig tree (Ficus natalensis) and has a strong ritual importance to the people of Uganda.


Uganda Museum
This is a display of Uganda’s cultural heritage where one can see ethnological and natural-historical exhibitions. It is a vivid reminder of the country’s colorful past.

Bahai Temple
It’s called ‘MashriquI-Adhkar’, the Persian translation of the drowning place of the praise of God. It is also a mother temple of Africa. People of different religions and beliefs gather there to worship their gods.
You may relax in the gardens and enjoy the magnificent sight accompanied by fresh Air.

Uganda Martyrs Shrine Namugongo
This is a Religious site where by 22 catholic and Anglican boys and men died for their faith in God. Between 1885-1887, the Buganda’s Kabaka (king) Mwanga ordered the killing of the Uganda martyrs and were burnt to death by his soldiers at Namugongo shrine. Most of them were buried at the Anglican church of Uganda Nakiyanja Namugongo.These Uganda Martyrs are always remembered on the 3rd of June every year.

If time allows, you may go to African craft markets at the National Theatre.

Day 1 (Transfer from the Air port to your hotel)
On arrival, Our Tour guide will meet you at the Airport and take you to your hotel for relaxation, Diner and over night at Fairway Hotel (luxury) or Boma Guest house (budget)

Day 2 (Transfer to Ngamba Island Sanctuary)
Eraly Morning, you will be picked from your Hotel and transferred to Entebbe for a briefing from G and C staff.  Then after walk to the pier at shores of Lake Victoria to meet your9.00am launch to Ngamba Island Mukono District.
The boat takes about 45 minutes – 1 hour across to Ngamba Island Chimp Sanctuary, crossing the Equator en-route.
On arrival at the island, home to 39 chimpanzees, you will be given a short introduction and briefing about sanctuary and its journal. Subsequent to this, is the feeding time! It is compelling to watch the chimps interrelate with each other as their keepers feed them. In the relatively short amount of time you are there you will be able to see such different personalities amongst the group, with some whistling for food and others clapping while others will be struggling to collect as much as they can to keep. Obviously the ideal option would be to re-introduce these orphaned chimpanzees to the wild however this is not possible for a number of different reasons and the sanctuary is not bad for second best. Day 3 (Nature/Forest walk)
After break fats, you will interact with these playful chimps as they may pull your hair, climb on you to carry them or just walk along holding your hand! Its fun for those that are interested!. THREE DAYS MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK


Murchison Falls National Park covers an area of 3,840-sq km with altitude of 619m at the delta and 1,292 at Rabongo Hill. The mean temperature is 29 ° and 21°C-low C-high. It has recorded 76 mammal species and 450 bird species and is known to be the biggest national park in Uganda.

Day 1

Early morning after breakfast, group is picked from hotel in Kampala and drive via Bombo and Masindi town to Murchison falls National Park. Have either lunch in Masindi or a picnic lunch in Kaniyo - Pabidi forest. Proceed to kichumbanyobo gate accessing Murchison falls National Park late afternoon. Drive to the "Top of the falls" for a breathtaking sight of the raging Nile and witness it forcing its way through a rocky gap barely six meters wide, point where the Nile River detonates through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river. Have Dinner and over night at Red Chillis Camp with basic accommodation, sambiya river lodge with mid range accommodation and luxury accommodation package being at paraa safari lodge / Nile safari camp.

Day 2

Early in the morning, go for an early morning game drive on at the Northern Bank of the Murchison falls National park to view animals unique to the African Savannah like giraffe, elephant, antelope, lion, and the Uganda Kob. Mid morning return to the lodge for breakfast, relaxation and lunch.
In the afternoon return to the Nile river for a launch cruise that leads to the Bottom of the roaring falls where huge crocodiles, schools of hippos, buffaloes, elephants and a variety of water birds like herons, ducks, cormorants, bee-eaters, skimmers, kingfishers, fish eagle and the rare shoebill are seen. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

A THREE DAY SAFARI TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK


DAY 1

Very early in the morning, our tour guide picks from your hotel or residence, drives to Mbarara (277 Km from Kampala) westwards via Masaka. Have a brief stop over at Equator crossing for snacks and photography. Lunch break is made at Regency Lake view Hotel or Agip Motel Mbarara then proceed to the park enjoying beautiful scenery, herds of long horned Ankole cattle, and tea plantations in Ishaka, Rift valley escarpment, open grassland and woodland savanna. DAY 2

have an early cup of coffee, Morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile makes visitors encounter elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs and a variety of birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast, relaxation and lunch. Day 1

Early in the morning group is driven to Lake Mburo National Park via masaka road with a stop over at Mpambire to watch drums being made using old methods passed down through generations, group takes a stop at the Equator en-route for photographs. Proceeds to the park via the Nshara gate and lunch there. The afternoon is for a game drive along the lakeside track, which will enables you see water plants and animals. The Kigambira loop offers an opportunity of going through the wooded wilderness with scattered thicket- and while here look out for, Zebras, Elands, Topis, bushbucks and bush duikers. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Luxury tented Camp/ Mihingo Lodge/ Rwonyo Camp.

Day 2

After breakfast in the morning, group gets zebra and waruki tracks where harems of Burch ells zebra (EquusBurch Elli) are common along with other species like bush bucks, oribi and reedbucks. The zebra track connects the group to Ruroko track. Drive through a wetland basin and thick acacia scrub and woodland with commonly olive trees and Euphorbia species. Lunch at Ruroko kopje picnic site, then continue to Rubanga forest which offers a variety of conducive habitant for 40species of birds for example, Harrer hawk,greenpegion,Narina`s Trogon, grey backed cameroptera and double toothed barbet. Tourists also view common trees like markhamia platy calyx, sapium, Eythrina and acacia spp, olea spp and boscia spp. Have dinner and an overnight stay at mantana luxury tented camp/rwonyo camp/mihingo lodge

Day 3

Day 5 (Gorilla tracking)
Your gorilla safari starts early hiking through the Volcanoes in search of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Approximately one hour of viewing the gorillas, you have your picnic lunches in the forest before heading to the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge for Dinner and overnight. 
     
Day 6 (Transfer to the Air port)

A 9 DAY RWENZORI MOUNTAIN HIKING SAFARI


Day 1 Kampala-Mbarara-Kasese

Arrival at Entebbe airport by morning flight. Transfer to Kasese via Mbarara for lunch at the Agip Motel Mbarara. The journey takes you along the L. Victoria on a good road to Mbarara. From here, the landscape charges to a hilly and fertile area with tea and banana plantations. Dinner and overnight at the Margarita Hotel/Rwenzori Base Camp Guest House.

Day 2, 1 Nyakalengija 1600m - Nybitaba Hut 2652m Nyabitaba hut.

From the Rwenzori Mountains National Park Head Quarter at Nyakalengija, 1.646 m, you will receive the briefing from the guides, with the possibility of hiring equipment. The hike starts through the plantations and homes of the Bakonjo, the people of the mountain, gradually reaching garden plots and elephants grass. You follow the Mobuku River, until crossing the Mahoma River. The trail passes through an open bracken fern slopes and Podorcarpus Forest, up to Nyabitaba Hut, 2.652 m, which is the arrival point for the day. This will take from 5 to 6 hours. From the location, you are facing on the North the Portal Peaks, 4.627 m. and in front Mount Kyniangoma. During the day, you might see monkeys, the Rwenzori turacoos

Day 3, 2 Nybitaba Hut 2650m - John Matte Hut 3414m

Descend the ridge to the Mubuku River then climb through bamboo forest toward John Matte Hut (3414m). The afternoon is tiring boulder hopping ascending along the north side of the Bujuku river through giant heather forest (4.1/2-5.1/2 hours).

Day 4, 3 John Matte Hut (3414m) - Bujuku Hut 3972m

Trek from John Matte Hut (3380m) to Bujuku Hut (3977m). We encounter the first of notorious bogs for which the Uganda approach to the peaks is famous. Traverse around Bigo Bog and Lake Bujuku. Look for the 'everlasting flower' known to remain on the plants for 40-years!

Day 5, 4 Bujuku Hut 3900m- Elena Hut 4541m

From Bujuku Hut you climb through moss draped groundsel vegetation, to Scott Elliot Pass, 4.372 m., between Mt. Baker and Stanley. Here you divert to Elena Hut, 4.540 m. for spending the night before climbing Mt. Stanley.

Day 6

The Elena glacier to the Stanley Plateau where crampons may be required. Cross this in Elena Hut 4541m - Punta Margherita 5109 m. - Elena Hut 4541m- Kitandara Hut, 4.023 m. Elena Hut to Margherita peak (5109m) then down Elena Hut 4541m . Early morning traverse of a NW direction and follow the Margherita glacier to the col and to the summit (3 hours). Descend to Elena Hut and after you descend to Upper Kitandara lake and through thick mud to Lower Kitandara lake where is located Kitandara Hut, 4.023 m. Time to complete the hike about 3 hours more. From Kitandara Hut you can proceed for climbingMount Baker or Mount Luigi di Savoia and the peak Vittorio Sella. Enjoy the view of Mt. Luigi di Savoia.

Day 7 Kitandara Hut - Guy Yeoman Hut, 3.261 m.

From Lake Kitandara you climb to Fresh field Pass, 4.282 m., a long flat of high alpine mossy glades, before descending the circuit among rocky and boggy areas. The panorama is dominated by the glaciers of Mounts Stanley and Baker and Mount of Savoy. A muddy trail leads to Akendahi, Bujongolo and Kabamba rock shelters, where starts the Kabamba valley down to Guy Yeoman Hut, 3.261 m. This can take up to 6 hours. The hut is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of mountains, vegetations and rivers.

Day 8

Guy Yeoman Hut - Nyabitaba hut. Drop very steeply alongside the Mobuku River, past Kichuchu, another rock shelter and join our original route near the confluence of the Bujuku River (3.1/2 hours).

Day 9 Nyabitaba- Nyakalengija base camp for overnight.

Nyabitaba Hut to the Nyakalengija road head (2-hours). Descend steeply off the ridge and notice enter the warm rainforest. Look for the tropical forest birds and monkeys. *Car leaves Kampala to pick Guests Driveback to Entebbe or Kampala, having lunch on the way.
Important: 
Climbers must be prepared to walk for up to 8 hours every day via steep cliff and muddy paths. Climbers must bring along their own climbing gear or hire it at the base camp. Our porters carry 8 kg of personal climbing gear

12 Days Birding To Pearl of Uganda

Day 2

Day 3
In the morning after breakfast,with packed lunch to embark on another birding on either the main road Sempaya trail or the Kirumira trail, depending on the previous’ day results. Day 4 Sebitoli kibale
After breakfast in the morning, transfer to Kibale National park- Sebitoli birding site which is recommended as the best birding site arriving early afternoon for lunch at the park.Then embark on birding Looking out for specials like, African black duck, Joyful, cabanis, Toro olive and Cameroon sombre green buls, Brown and scaly breasted illadopsis, Green-throated Sunbird, Green-breasted Pita, African pita, -headed Sunbird, Brown-capped Weaver, Velvet-mantled Drongo, Bocage's Bush-shrike, Pink-footed Puff Back,  and many more. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/ Kanyanchu tourist centre.


Day 5 
In the morning after breakfast go for guided birding in the Kanyanchu area where you will watch out for birds like the African go-shwak, the majestic crowned eagle, masked apalis, grey parrots and many more. Picnic lunch in the forest and the afternoon head to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary through the magombe swamp to see birds such as papyrus Gonolek, papyrus canary, mosque swallow and brown headed Tchagra. Return to Ndali lodge / Kanyanchu for dinner and overnight.


Day 6 bwindi
Early in the morning,after breakfast,drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, watch out for birds and game enroute reaching late afternoon.Have lunch at the park,then go birding Buhoma area. Dinner and overnight Gorilla forest camp/ Buhoma community Bandas.


Day 7
Very early after breakfast move into the forest on the water fall trail for birding. Look out for birds such as Kivu ground thrush, Mountain Buzzard, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater,  Barred Long-tailed Cuckoo, Mackinnon's Fiscal, Sooty Boubou, African Hill-Babbler, Dusky Tit, Ashy Flycatcher, Dusky-blue Flycatcher,  Doherty's Bush-shrike, Black-and-white Shrike-flycatcher,  Chin-spot Batis, Rwenzori Batis,  Ayre's Hawk-eagle, white bellied Robin-chat and slender billed starling moving along the main track as you descend to the camp for lunch. In the afternoon move along the long trail to bwindi for more birding. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest Camp/ Buhoma community Banda.


Day 8- Buhoma
Early in the morning go for birding on the longtrail to Mubwindi and also the short trail in the afternoon. Watchout for birds like the Montane Oriole, Waller’s starling, Blacke –billed turacos, barbets, Carruthers’ Cisticola Red chested Flufftail,Cabanis’s Green bull, Dwarf Honey guide, Oriole Finch and Bar tailed trogon. This bird search offers you an opportunity to view for gorillas too. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest Camp/ Buhoma community Banda.


Day 9 Ruhiija. 
At sunset,go birding in the ruhija area and watchout for birds like the Red-tailed and Shelley's Greenbul, Grey-throated Barbet, Common Buzzard, Black Bee-eater and Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, Red-throated Alethe, African Shrike-flycatcher Ayres's Hawk-eagle,  and many more. Day 10 Lake Mburo NP
After breakfast in the morning, drive towards Lake Mburo NP via Kabale. Lunch in mbarara ,then proceed to mburo national park and Bird along the entrance road to Rwonyo in the late afternoon to watch out for acacia associated bird species like mosque swallow, black bellied bustard and Rupell’s long-tailed starling.Have over night at Rwonyo Rest Camp/ Mantana Tented camp.


Day 11
Morning after break fast, drive along the lake side track and Kigambira loop towards Kampala, Watch out for birds like Green-capped Eremomela, Austral migrant, black cuckoo-shrike Tawny, African Hawk, Batelour and others enroute.
